Wisdom of the (New) Ages

Geek culture continues to infuse itself into mainstream consciousness.  Now, sci-fi and fantasy stories can be viewed as a source for inspiration and other life lessons.

Of course, most of us geeks knew this all along...

So there are two plots: someone came to town and someone left town. The Greeks were the first to, lets say, get published, and they wrote (recorded) some pretty spectacular stuff, and I say recorded because they basically wrote about the human condition. But call me prejudice, because I have a degree in Classics, but since then most stories/novels/movies, including old Bill Shakespeare, have had something from those original stories. Humans understand certain archetypes (calling on Jung here) and Star Wars is the archetype for our generation (you could even relate the characters to Tarot major arcana cards), but then I'm not being very original. Read Jospeph Campbell.

Nellie, you're spot-on about the Greeks. Stories and character archtypes are built on a lot of ancient myths and they still resonate with people today.
