Seattle Sounders Victory Rally Today

I must admit I hardly follow the Seattle Mariners, or the Seahawks, although I'm always happy to see our baseball and football teams do well each season.

I know even less about the Seattle Sounders than I do about our other sports teams.

A few days ago, I managed to catch our soccer team win it's first ever MLS Championship Game on Saturday.  (I didn't even know they were in the championship).

There'll be a victory rally through downtown Seattle today.

Congratulations to the Sounders!

New England Edges Past the Seahawks in Superbowl XLIX

The weekend provided me with a break from jury duty so I could watch the Superbowl.

The New England Patriots snatched victory from the beaks of the Seahawks, thanks to a last-minute interception.

Highlights of Superbowl XLIX can be seen in the photo gallery.

Despite the outcome, I enjoyed watching the game.

Congratulations New England fans.

Seahawks Superbowl Bound!

This past Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks pulled off an amazing down-to-the-wire win against the Greenbay Packers for the NFC Championship in overtime.

My wife and I had to run several errands that day, but we turned on the TV when there was 6:53 minutes left in the game and Greenbay was leading 19-7.  The Seahawks made a spectacular come-back, but Greenbay didn't quit, scoring a field goal, tying the game 22-22.

All it took was a few minutes into overtime for the Seahawks to score a touch-down and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, with a final score of 28-22.

Here's the nine biggest moments of the game.

Now the Seahawks will face the New England Patriots, who defeated the Indianapolis Colts during the AFC Championship Game, in Superbowl XLIX.

To say us 12th Man fans are excited to see the Seahawks return to the Superbowl is an understatement...

Celebrating the Seahawks!

I don't follow sports all that much.  I didn't even have a "Sports" label for this blog until today.  But ever since I was first stationed here in Washington State at the beginning of my military career, I've considered myself a fan of all of Seattle's teams.

Just not like any of these guys...

So even though this isn't a sports blog, the Seattle Seahawks victory over the Denver Broncos in last weekend's Superbowl, is impossible for me to ignore.

Especially when 700,000 "12th Man" fans attended yesterday's parade through downtown Seattle and city officials were expecting "only" 200--300,000 to show up.

Folks just didn't attend this historic event--they recorded it for posterity.

While I have little inclination to brave huge crowds and cold weather, I certainly hope for a repeat performance for the upcoming football season.

GO HAWKS!
